Kidz Club Faculty
At Caughlin Club Kidz all of our phenomenal staff are required to obtain a Negative TB Test and Sheriff’s card through Washoe County prior to employment.
Within 90 days of employment the following classes must be taken:
- Communicable Diseases Class
- First Aid & CPR certification
- SIDs Class
- Child Abuse & Neglect
- Obesity & Nutrition Class
- Child Development/Guidance
- Building Safety
- Transportation Safety
- Emergency Preparedness
- Medication Administration
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
30 training hours within the Early Childhood field per year. Thereafter and every year they must obtain:
We’d like to take a moment to introduce our phenomenal staff here at Caughlin Club Kidz:
- Rhonda Devencenzi: Center Director
Ms. Rhonda joined Caughlin Club Kidz in March of 2015. She is a mother of 2 boys, Dillon and Danny Jr. Rhonda has 55 credits towards her AA in Early Childhood Education and is continuing her education at Truckee Meadows Community College. She has been in the early childhood filed for 20+ years. She has also been a director for two large preschools in Reno and also had the privilege of owning her own facility. Rhonda loves working with families and staff working with young children. She plans on continuing with her lifelong passion of working with young children. Rhonda has excellent training and experience in all areas of Early Childhood Education. She strives to make Caughlin Club Kidz the best quality facility in the Reno/Sparks area for young youth.
- Melanie Mazza: Assistant Director
Ms. Melanie joined our facility in June of 2017 as a co-lead teacher in our Jellyfish classroom. Melanie was promoted to Administrative Assistant in February 2018. She graduated from TMCC with an AA in Early Childhood Education in spring of 2017. She will be attending UNR in Fall 2018. She is a mom of two little boys; Connor and Daniel. She has a couple years of experience working with children. She also has experience creating and implementing the curriculum. Her goal is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She enjoys working with and advocating for children. Melanie is also our ECERS coach for 3 years to grade school. She coaches and guides our preschool staff in quality care for preschool children.
Starfish Classroom (6 weeks to 12 months)
- Ms. Maria: Lead Teacher
Ms. Maria joined Caughlin Club Kidz in February 2008 and is pursuing her education in ECE. She has 18 credits towards her associates’ degree in Early Childhood Education this far. Maria has 15 years’ experience working in childcare. She has two beautiful daughters that also attend Caughlin Adventure Camp and has been married for over 18 years. Maria goes above and beyond her job duties. She loves each of our babies as if they were her own. Maria takes pride in making our baby room the best and is a wonderful asset to our center. Maria is our ITERS coach for infant to 2 years old. She helps to coach and guide our infant/toddler teachers in best quality care for children.
- Ms. Katrina: Co-Lead Teacher
Katrina joined Caughlin Club Kidz in March 2015. She currently has 19 credits towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Katrina also has 15 years’ experience working in childcare. She has been married to her husband for over 9 years and has two young children of her own, one whom still attends Caughlin Club Kidz in our Whales classroom.
- Ms. Kristin: Assistant Teacher
Kristin joined Caughlin Club Kidz in April 2017. She is new to the field and our facility but feels this is her true calling. She loves being with the infants and being around children and learning new things every day. Kristen has been married to her husband for 4 years and has one son of her own who has attended our facility.
Sea Lions Classroom (12 months to 2 years)
- Ms. Alia: Lead Teacher
Alia joined Caughlin Club Kidz in October 2017. She was together with her husband for 20 years, married for 11 and sadly is now a widow and mother of two beautiful little girls they shared. Alia is new to the field and has a background in banking. She moved here from California and wanted to explore the world of early childcare while still being able to care and spend time with her two girls. Alia enjoys working and caring for children she has a natural love and plans on continuing to pursue her career in the early childhood field.
- Ms. Andrea: Assistant Teacher
Ms. Andrea joined Caughlin Club Kidz in December 2017. She is a mom of a beautiful little girl and a Reno native. Andrea has two and half years of experience working with the 12 to 24 month age group in a preschool setting. While she enjoys working with children she aspires to finish her AS in business and a BS in accounting and marketing. She has a dream to open up her own small business in the future. In Andrea’s spare time she enjoys exploring the outdoors.
Sea Turtle Classroom (2 years to 3 years)
- Ms. Christine: Lead Teacher
Ms. Christine joined Caughlin Club Kidz in May 2017. She was born and raised in Reno, Nv. She moved to Montana in 2007 and worked on her farm for six years. She loved it but it was not home so her and her four wonderful children moved back to Reno to be with family. That decision is what landed her here working with all your wonderful children. She has been a preschool teacher for almost four years and absolutely loves it! She couldn’t imagine herself in any other field or career.
- Ms. Sabrina: Assistant Teacher
Ms. Sabrina joined Caughlin Club Kidz in January 2018. Sabrina has had a passion to be a teacher since she was 4-years old (although she had first pursued phlebotomy). She has a few years of experience in the preschool environment as a “FLEX” teacher. She strives to have high energy and a love for children of all ages. Sabrina has a 3-year old son which has drawn her back to focus on the young toddler age group. She is very excited to be able to take her son to work with her and to take on her new role as a Sea Lions teacher. Sabrina also looks forward to furthering her career in the Early Childhood Education field.
Jellyfish Classroom (3 years to 4 years)
- Ms. Janie: Co-Lead Teacher
Ms. Janie has been with Caughlin Club Kidz since April 2016. She has worked with children for four years now and truly enjoys it. She brings forth creativity and a positive attitude within the classroom and is a hands-on instructor that strives to meet the needs and interests of the children. Janie has two children under 4 who both attend Caughlin Club Kidz whom she loves to visit during her breaks. She is lucky enough to have both a daughter and a son. Janie really enjoys working with young children every day.
- Ms. Kristina: Co-Lead Teacher
Ms. Kristina joined our facility in January 2017. She has three years of experience working with young children. Kristina has a Child Development Associate for infant and toddler care. Kristina is married with two kids; a boy and a girl. Kristina works well with all ages of children; we feel she is a great asset and team player to our Jellyfish classroom.
Whales Classroom (4 years to 6 years)
- Ms. Kathy: Lead Teacher
Ms. Kathy has been with Caughlin Club Kidz since October 2012. She has her degree in Human Development Family Studies. Kathy sets clear guidelines for the children and has high expectations of each of them. Kathy has 40+ years’ experience in childcare. Kathy loves her dogs and really enjoys traveling.
- Ms. Stephanie: Assistant Teacher
Ms. Stephanie has been working in the childcare field for over 10 years. She enjoys working with children and watching them grow. She has a teenaged son that she is very proud of. She enjoys spending time with her son and family while also continuing her education at Truckee Meadows Community College to receive her Associates in Early Childhood Education. She currently has 30 credits towards her degree. She is also very involved in her church in her spare time.
- Ms. Aimee: Assistant Teacher
Ms. Aimee joined Caughlin Club Kidz in March 2018. She has been a Lady Bighorn dancer as well as a dance instructor at Caughlin Athletic Club since 2010. Aimee is currently pursuing her education at the University of Nevada Reno in Human Development and Family Studies. Her goal is to get her teaching license and teach children from birth to second grade. During the summer Aimee will be our Lead Teacher in the Summer Jr. Camp Program as well as one of our Summer Camp Activity instructors teaching Dance.
- Ms. Kendyll: Breaker
Ms. Kendyll joined Caughlin Club Kidz in February 2018 as a breaker. She grew up in a military family and has lived in places like Texas, Germany and Hawaii. Ms. Kendyll has nine years of experience working with young children and she’s been a lifeguard and swim instructor. She graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2016 with a B.S. in History and her goal is to teach High School History in the future.
- Ms. Evette: Part Time Breaker
Ms. Evette was also new to the field when she joined Caughlin Club Kidz in August of 2017. She started out in our Turtles classroom and really enjoyed working with Ms. Christine and the 2’s, however she followed her dream of being a Dental Hygienist and only works for us on Friday’s now. Evette has a natural niche for working with children. She loves to listen to live music and loves to run. Ms. Evette enjoys working with children and watching them grow.
- Ms. Staci: Cook/Breaker
Ms. Staci aka Gramma Staci joined Caughlin Club Kidz in August of 2017. She is a mother of 4 children and has over 20 grandchildren. She has worked in the Early Childcare field for over 8 years and found that it is her passion as she grows older. Staci is helpful in many ways around the facility. Staci performs most of our oddball tasks around our facility that are crucial to running a quality program.
